Jonathan's Rating: A Coaster

I’m embarrassed to admit that my wife and I went to see Closer.  The two of us were out of town and we went into the theatre clueless of what we were in for.  Closer is a good reminder of why I should always check out before I go to an R movie.  Then I wouldn’t have to walk out of a film half way through it.

To those who don’t understand my faith, they won’t understand my logic.  But my faith is important to me.  And the Bible tells us to “flee sexual immorality.”  And that’s all that Closer is about.  And if you say that you can ignore that stuff . . . I beg you to look up the word “flee” in the dictionary.

Sure, critics will tell you how fantastic the film was and how strong the performances were.  And that’s a sad reflection on our society.

Don’t see this film.  It’s not art.  It’s smut.  There are plenty of other films out there.
