Yawn.

Yeah, that about sums it up. Nothing really new in yet another tale of aliens and predators battling. This time warring alien and predator races descend on a small town, where unsuspecting residents must band together for any chance of survival.

Sure… there is a cool looking hybrid alien that is part Alien, part Predator (don’t ask). But other than that… nothing great.

It would be hard for this film to live up to its predecessors. Think about it:

  • The original Alien: Old school, slow paced, but AMAZING! Done by none other than Ridley Scott.

  • Aliens… incredible military action by a young James Cameron.

  • Alien 3… although dark and probably the red headed stepchild in the series… it was the early creative work of David Fincher.

  • Alien Resurrection (4) was goofy and had a horrific ending…but the filmwork of Jean-Pierre Jeunet is always very artistic. The premise was one of the most creative (space pirates, evil corporate figure, hired goons, half alien, robot, soldier and “impregnated” specimen all struggle to survive together!) yet, and the underwater scene was probably one of the best sequences in the whole series.

  • The Predator films were corny… but fun.

Sorry… this one just slipped into the back of the line.

SHOULD KIDS SEE IT?
No, there is way too much violence.
