Teens and temptation make for a dangerous combination. Check out this brand new
MOVIE CLIP DISCUSSION that can give your kids
the upper hand when they face temptation the next time. This free resource literally has everything
you need to pull off a great discussion, including the movie clip itself!
Main Point: The best way to fight and overcome temptation is to resist the Devil and
get out of the situation.
The Movie Clip:
Rancher Daniel Evans, who lost part of his leg in the Civil War, is a broken man who owes a large amount of
money to a powerful man in Bisbee, AZ. When the notorious outlaw Ben Wade is captured after the heist of a
stagecoach, Dan offers to assist in escorting the cold-blooded killer to the city of Contention, where Wade
will board the 3:10 p.m. train to Yuma, AZ and stand trial. In return....
Every year I encourage parents and youth workers to pay attention to three television events: The
MTV Movie Awards, the Teen Choice Awards, and the MTV Video Music Awards (the VMAs).
Next Sunday, September 13th is the MTV VMAs.
MTV's VMAs always provide a revealing look not only to what bands and artists our kids are listening to,
but also a peek into the type of content the top songs and videos are filled with. Every year I write an
article the day after the event providing my take on the show (see my last year's two cents here).

The question is, do parents know all this?
They made David Letterman famous, now they can make your next lesson a hit! Use these Top 10 lists on the
subject of dating to introduce your study and discussion on love, romance, sex, dating, etc. Coming to you from
our OPENERS page, these three Top
10 lists are organized in a funny way.
Top 10 Things A Guy Doesn't Want to Hear On A First Date

9. Do you care if my great grandma comes along?
8. You call that a burp?
7. This is my fifth date today.
6. My dad is in jail for assaulting the last guy I went out with
For two thousand years, misunderstandings about spiritual gifts have plagued the church. If we're honest, most
of us have a few questions about the subject ourselves. Here's a great
MOVIE CLIP DISCUSSION that will help your students understand
the basics of spiritual gifts.
Main Point: As Christians, we are each given spiritual gifts by the Holy Spirit to accomplish
the will of God.
The Movie Clip: Leaving Lorien
One of my favorite movies is The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. I like it because it pits the
quintessential little guy, Frodo, against the most evil, vile, and powerful force known to Middle Earth, Sauron.
We've all seen the film, but let me draw your attention to....
