No matter where you are in America, summer has officially hit. Kids are out of school...and it's HOT! So here's a brand new
game that's sure to cool off your students and give them a laugh at the same time.
This brand new resource comes from our friend Dan Manns who has been sending us fun ideas for years! Shout out to our brotha Dan!
Ice Cream Meltdown
This UP FRONT GAME makes for a great Summer game. It's pretty simple; all you need is some ice cream and condiments.
Start by asking, "Who wants some ice cream?" When you've chosen two students, have them each select a partner. Bring all four of them
up to the front of the room. The two contestants stand behind a small table that has ice cream, cones, spoons, and condiments on it.
They should be facing the crowd with their hands on their hips. Their partners stand behind them and put their arms through the hole
between their partners' body and arms. (C'mon we've all seen this done!)
The object of the game is to have the two students race to eat an ice cream cone. But, here's the catch: the person standing behind
them must grab the cone, dip the ice cream - two scoops, add AT LEAST two condiments (like chocolate and nuts), and then feed it to
the first student. The first student cannot touch anything at all with his/her hands!
The first one to get it all down wins!
NOTE: Make sure the ice cream is nice and soft or it will be very difficult for the students in the back to dip out.
Have fun...and look out for brain freeze!

Each week the front page of our web site features a SPIRITUAL GROWTH RESOURCE OF THE WEEK!

regular dose of spiritual growth material for your ministry.
This week... a great piece of curriculum from our free MOVIE CLIP DISCUSSION
page!
Deep Impact (Forgiveness)
Summer is always a great time for movies and this week's Spiritual Growth Resource allows you to show a scene from a great movie
that also teaches them about forgiveness. This MOVIE CLIP DISCUSSION
has everything you need to pull off a stirring lesson with your students.
Main Point: Don't wait until it's too late to forgive.
The Movie Clip: Memories of a Perfect Day
Deep Impact is a classic disaster film about an impending comet headed for earth that will cause a planet killing tsunami.
Throughout the movie, Jenny (Tea Leoni's character) and her father (Maximilian Schell) have had a lot of tension between them because
of Jenny's resentment and unforgiveness toward him. At this point in the movie, Jenny sacrificed a helicopter ride to safety to be
with her father at the end. The clip we are using for this particular discussion features a compelling reconciliation scene on the
beach as they are together when the wave from the tsunami comes.
Right now Jonathan is offering 25% off his newest book
10-Minute Talks, a book of story-driven talks that includes a
CD with transcripts of all the talks and a corresponding small group curriculum.
And while we're at it... how about free shipping for any of his books anywhere in the U.S.?
